It is recommended that potential students for this course have attend at least the taught element of the “CSP recommended / ATACP Accredited Foundation Programme in Aquatic Therapy ” this is an intermediate courses which assumes that the participants are already familiar with the content of the foundation course and will build on it
Intermediate Aquatic Physiotherapy for Neurological conditions course
Aim:
To provide the theoretical knowledge & clinical skills to design, implement and evaluate safe and effective Aquatic Physiotherapy for patients with Neurological Conditions
Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate clinical reasoning & understanding of the physiological effects of immersion regarding the selection of neurological patients for Aquatic Physiotherapy.
- Demonstrate an understanding of hydrostatics & hydrodynamic principles by developing & progressing techniques with the neurological patient in the pool using problem solving techniques & evaluation.
- Demonstrate safe moving & handling of the neurological patient in the pool environment both in and out of the pool
