Complications of a covid-19 infection are more severe and with a higher prevalence in persons that have symptoms of a chronic low grade inflammation, partly due to an unhealthy life-style in which the immuno-metabolic system is compromised. A part of the neuromusculoskeletal patients coming to aquatic therapy suffer from an unhealthy lifestyle.

Therapy is based on influencing endothelium of blood vessels, the hypothalamus, hippocampus and other brain regions. Keywords in aquatic therapy are aerobic training, environmental enrichment and executive functions. These elements can be related to fall prevention in case of impaired balance during posture and gait.
